Water

We have been able to fund new community water projects, providing access to clean drinking water to whole communities, including schools, in areas which are very susceptible to water borne diseases like malaria, typhoid and cholera.

Water projects can vary according to the topography and in the past we have provided new water catchments and pipelines as well as stand taps, however we have found boreholes to be more reliable

What we provide

We drill a borehole to an appropriate depth to provide clean water all year. These are fenced and fitted with either a hand pump or an electric pump is used to fill a large water tank.

This precious resource is then put under the care of a local water management committee to ensure proper use and maintenance.

How much does it cost?

Currently, these borehole projects cost £8,860 each.
