This project has not been the easiest to undertake. The village of Moh in Nkambe, NW Region, is very remote at the best of times but the political crisis in that region, combined with torrential rains which made roads impassable, meant that transportation of building materials to the school site was extremely difficult. Nonetheless, the community turned out in high numbers on 20th December to witness the handing over of this new school building – and there was great celebration!

- The community turns out for the celebration
Both the children and the teachers are really excited to be returning to school after the Christmas holidays to classrooms that are dry, hygienic and durable. High winds last year had taken off most of the roof of the old school building, which then started to collapse. The children were all packed into one corner of a classroom, which made teaching and learning so difficult for everyone.
Already the school garden, which was part of this project, has been planted and harvested – with the proceeds used to purchase new teaching/learning materials.

- The school harvest for sale at the market
We send the pupils and teachers at CS St Martin in Moh village very best wishes for the New Year in their new school, and we hope to hear good news soon of improved academic standards in this part of NW Cameroon.
