New school building for IDPs in Bamenda

by | Sep 30, 2020 | Improving Lives News

We are so pleased to be able to announce that the little primary and nursery school, CS Charles Luanga,  in Up Station Bamenda will soon have a new school building, complete with furniture and blackboards, a head teacher’s office and a new latrine – thanks to a generous personal donation from new supporters of BSFA.  The school operated out of a dilapidated church hall for 10 years but closed down in 2017 due to the Anglophone Crisis.  It reopened in 2019 because so many IDP families had moved into the area for safety from the fighting.  There are currently 110 pupils, 60 of which are IDPs, and the numbers are expected to rise significantly with the start of the new school year. We look forward to sharing pictures of the shiny new school once it is complete.
