This is the kind of makeshift house that thousands of families now call home in the jungle and bush areas of the NW and SW regions of Cameroon. Their villages have been burned, their subsistence farms destroyed, family members killed. They live in fear of their lives and hope that they will be safe from the fighting in the depths of the forest where there is no clean water, no food, no health care, no school for the children.
The political crisis impacts most heavily on the poorest people in the English speaking regions of Cameroon.
There are now one million internally displaced people (IDPs) in Cameroon, the majority of whom are living in abject squalor. We are fundraising to provide the basic essentials of life – shelter, water, medicines, vaccines and hope for the future – for 1000 of these IDPs.
