Back in 2015, thanks to our wonderful supporters at Market Makers, we funded some school projects in Mbiame, one of which was the little Nursery School at Ntoh Mbiame.
The following year, unfortunately, almost all schools in the NW and SW regions started to close because of the war and have remained closed ever since. 90% of all children in these two regions have missed out on school for almost four years now. Many schools, health centres, businesses and whole villages have been burned down and thousands of people have been killed during the vicious fighting, so it was particularly heartening to get the news that the Nursery School at Ntoh has remained undamaged and has recently opened up to local children, offering catch-up classes during the summer months. It gives us hope that more schools may start to open at the start of the new academic year in September.
